Asaf Anonimi grew up in central Israel in the 1970s, an ordinary boy, on an ordinary street, in a family where everyone agreed, without ever saying so, that everything was fine.
It was not fine. Something happened to him as a child, something he would carry alone, and tell no one. So he learned to do the only thing that kept him safe: to stand guard. To keep watch in every room. To hold everyone at a careful distance. To play, day after day, year after year, the part of a boy for whom nothing was wrong.
He was nine years old. He already knew how the story ended.
